About This Set

These Go stones have been professionally restored by a craftsman in Hyuga, Miyazaki. Each stone has been carefully polished by hand, and any missing pieces have been replaced to complete the set. No certificate of authenticity is included.

About the White Stones

The white stones are made from clams harvested at Okura Beach in Hyuga, Miyazaki Prefecture. The shell is fine-grained, with a smooth surface and a clear, natural white tone. Collection at Okura Beach has now ceased entirely. Hyuga-origin stones can no longer be produced, and what exists in the market today is what remains from the past.

About the Black Stones

The black stones are made from Nachi-kuro, quarried in Nachikatsuura, Wakayama Prefecture.
