Go Stones – Mexican Clam, Yuki-in (Snow Grade), No. 37 (10.4 mm), Repaired Set

¥150,000

About This Set

These Go stones have been professionally restored by a craftsman in Hyuga, Miyazaki. Each stone has been carefully polished by hand, and any missing pieces have been replaced to complete the set. No certificate of authenticity is included.

About the White Stones

The white stones are made from Mexican clams. After Hyuga-origin clam shells became unavailable, Mexican clams became the primary alternative for Go stone production. Today, import restrictions have made this material increasingly difficult to source as well, and Mexican clam Go stones are no longer easy to produce in quantity.

About the Black Stones

The black stones are made from Nachi-kuro, quarried in Nachikatsuura, Wakayama Prefecture.
