5.6-sun Go Floor Board – Aya Forestry Kaya, Single-piece, Inner-heart cut

¥350,000

Material

This floor board is made from Aya Forestry Kaya and crafted as a single-piece, inner-heart cut board.
Aya Forestry Kaya refers to kaya wood sourced from forests formerly managed by the Aya Regional Forestry Office in Miyazaki, Japan.

The surface grain is well aligned and visually balanced.
This sense of order comes from the natural growth pattern of the tree rather than artificial processing.

An inner-heart cut board is taken from the inner side of the log, preserving a continuous grain structure across the surface.

Natural Characteristics

There are visible resin pockets on both end-grain sides.
These are natural features of kaya wood and reflect the material’s internal structure.

Such marks do not affect the stability or usability of the board.
They remain part of the wood’s individual history.

Thickness and Presence

The board measures 5.6-sun in thickness.
For a floor board, this provides substantial mass and stability.

The density contributes to a deep and steady acoustic response when stones are placed.
Its physical presence may suit those who prefer a grounded and formal playing environment.

Included Accessories

The following items are included:

  • Protective cloth cover

  • Paulownia wood storage box

Paulownia wood is traditionally used in Japan for storage because it is lightweight and helps regulate humidity.

Consideration

A 5.6-sun single-piece floor board represents a full-scale playing specification.
Natural resin pockets are part of the character of the material.
