This board is made from Kyushu Kaya and crafted as a single-piece, inner-heart cut board.
The grain appears balanced and even, spreading quietly across the playing surface.
Because it is cut from the inner side of the log, the growth lines form a natural, unified pattern.

Layers of Time

The original log is estimated to be over 200 years old.
Kaya grows slowly, and the character of that long growth remains visible in the wood.
Rather than emphasizing age as value, it is more accurate to understand this as time preserved in material form.

Thickness

This board measures 3.4-sun.
For a table board, this is a relatively substantial thickness.
The added depth provides a steady presence, supporting each move at a calm and measured pace.

Natural marks may remain on the end grain.
With age, the tone of the wood gradually deepens and becomes more unified.

Consideration

A board of this thickness is not required for everyday play.
